Hazmat suits protect against dust particles, low-risk chemical splash and protection of barrier to biological particulates. It makes them perfect PPE for tasks ranging from working in medical environments, asbestos removal, insulating, paint spraying, hygiene rules, use with low-risk chemicals, horticulture, farming and general building work.

Choosing the optimum Hazmat Suit to meet classifications and requirements

While Europe and the USA operate different grading levels to outline the level of protection each suit offers. Europe categorizes hazmat suits into a total of six types (classes) of protection, with one being the highest degree of protection and 6 being the lowest degree of protection. In the USA, the protection classification is four levels A, B, C or D, with A being the highest and D being the lowest:

• (Europe Type 1 – roughly USA Level A): These Hazmat suits are designed to protect against liquid and gaseous chemicals. Gas-tight. The suits are designed to EN943 part 1 standards.
• (Europe Type 2 – Roughly USA Level B): These Hazmat suits are designed to protect against liquid and gaseous chemicals. Non-gas tight. The suits are designed to EN943 part 1 standards.
• (Europe Type 3): These Hazmat suits are designed to protect against liquid chemicals for a limited period. The suits are designed to EN14605.
• (Europe Type 4 – Roughly USA Level C): These Hazmat suits are designed to protect against liquid chemicals for a limited period. The suits are designed to EN14605.
• (Europe Type 5): These Hazmat suits are designed to protect against airborne dry particulates for a limited period. The suits are designed to EN ISO 13982-1.
• (Europe Type 6 – Roughly USA Level D): Protects against a light spray of liquid chemicals. The suits are designed to EN13034.
